I discovered Blades the other night and decided to give it a try... The decor is “nice”, if not a bit overcrowded, and the Italian waiter very kind. Unfortunately, the food is bad, or as my mum would say, not my taste.
Yes, the ingredients are not the same as in Italy, but there is no excuse for the lack of taste and the over use of salt. And how difficult is it to cook fresh vegetables? Frozen, over boiled green beans and sautées potatoes that looked and tasted refried, will come with your main course.
I also have a problem with the meat on display in the main area of the restaurant, I think it should be in a fridge!
The tables are dressed with sooo many things, such as salt, peper x2, sugar, vinaigre, oil, butter, bread sticks... Too much!
I will not be going back and would not recommend to any of my friends. Gordon Ramsay should pay the chef and the team a visit!
